Bush on Racism: That's Not his Field

Kanye West Rips Bush During NBC Concert

By FRAZIER MOORE, AP Television WriterSat Sep 3

It began, fittingly enough, with jazz from New Orleans natives Harry Connick Jr. and Wynton Marsalis. But "A Concert for Hurricane Relief," a heartfelt and dignified benefit aired on NBC and other networks Friday night,
took an unexpected turn thanks to the outspoken rapper Kanye West.

Appearing two-thirds through the program, he claimed "George Bush doesn't care about black people" and said America is set up "to help the poor, the black people, the less well-off as slow as possible." --Yahoo News

Not one to be left out of a controversy about racism, I left this comment on the Huffington Post blog:

Bush doesn't care about people except those elite in his world of privilege and status. His two terms as president serve to further entrench those items of importance to that group: tax cuts for the very rich, powerful laws (Patriot Act) limiting civil rights of the mob," and annexing areas outside the US with heavy deposits of crude oil.

Other than that, don't expect too much--it's beyond his field of vision.
